sometimes i connect sometimes i don't wtf

1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows XP and i guess a linksys wireless router one?
3. How much ram? no idea
4. Hard Disk space available? 60 gigs
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? modem is webstar, router is wireless-G Broadband router model WRT54G
7. Where are you trying to connect from? [B******[/B]
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.12.6 Java 1.5.0_06
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Roadrunner
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "Your Test Worked!" is what happened.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. well, i have a router that routes the connection up to another computer and i also share it with some torrent downloader.
12. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i don't know what FW is sorry.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface? i have a brickwall in front of the blue world icon in limewire if that's what you mean?

ok, i can connect but it only turns the smallest block green and then it says no connection or i have a firewall. i tried port forwarding and that other thing where you make the exceptions for the XP firewall. sometimes though i can connect and it fills up to 3 blocks and sometimes even 4. i can even download songs when it's like that but then in a few hours it'll go back to know connection. i don't know what is going on because just a month ago everything was going absolutely fine.

i'd VERY MUCH appreciate some insight and hopefully a solution to my problem because it's really wearing thin on my patience after doing everything i could possibly do to make it work when it never had this problem before.

ok, now i don't have a wall infront of the globe in limewire, but it still only connects 3 bars

also, when i download songs it says connected for a long time, yes i know about the fake files, but sometimes it switches to "waiting for stable connection"

Look under ther thread "connection problems -click first" aout how to configure the firewall; if I'm not mistaken then your router needs portforwarding. You should also find information about how to do this in said thread:

Try to delete the LW preference folder. Read here on how to delete this folder (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire)

Patience is a virtue, with computers it's a necessity.....(credit goes to Only A Hobo)....

ok guys, back with the same problem. says i don't have an internet connection, sometimes it connects, and when it does it only does 3 bars. this time i don't have the brickwall in front of the globe anymore either. i did the port forwarding, the xp firewall fix, and the erase the .limewire directory. it still is doing this. so could anyone give me an assessment? has anyone else had this type of trouble?

because just a couple of months ago there was nothing wrong and it worked like a charm.

ok, the brickwall is back in front of the globe and i haven't done anything to change that. wtf is going on here? it's not making any sense.

Hi, I am on limewire 4.18.6 not able to download, all firewalls allow access to limewire. I select song and it keeps it in queued.
