Speed problem Hi, I have a problem with my connection speed I formally used a dial up connection to download using Limewire and had the connection speed run at 1-3 KB/s. I have recently connected to a wireless 'ADSL' which is a much faster connection, yet my Limewire still has its connection speed running at 1-3 KB/s? Is there a setting I can click to update my connection speed or something, please help!? Cheers. |
Download a file from here & see what speed you get http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml Please give us all your details (click on link for more info):) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=62652 |
Yeh it is double the speed at around 10-12 KB/s. But still I leave another question, if I download a file what speed should I be looking for from the host to get the ideal connection speed? |
Well, downloading from a host with a fast connection speed (the faster being T1 & T3) theoretically means that you can achieve a faster download than from a cable/dsl host. Downloading from multiple hosts usually means a faster download. Your download speed depends on how many hosts you're downloading from, their speed, your speed & how you all have your LW set up. If you'd like some tips for optimising LW's performance, read the thread below or use the forum search. Configuring LW for best performance If that's no help, make sure that you've used the right speed setting in LW (tools > options > speed). Otherwise, it might be something within your setup that needs looking at. |
limewire was unable to set up a port to listen to incoming connections. some features of limewire may not work as expected I keep getting this message everytime I open limewire, what can I do to fix it? |
