I have a problem, I have tried everything! Please and thank-you in advance.... OK, here's my issues at stake here, first I have windows xp PRO, using the windows sp2 firewall. I also have the limewire PRO 4.10.9, I do not want to update to a higher version either, because I am sick and tired of paying for all the updates, so rather just stick to this 4.10.9 of limewire PRO. Everytime I click to open my limewire PRO up, it disconnects my dsl. I have read that firewall link from limewire faq's site about the firewalls, and followed the directions in it. I now have that port added from that site to my firewall of sp2 firewall. After I followed these directions, I still have these issues, where everytime I opened my LW PRO up, it disconnects my dsl, red lights flashing on and it does reconnect after about 10 mins or so. After these 10 mins, my dsl is now connected online. I have already also, tried that link I saw in this forum about going to some site and having it tested, well after clicking that link from my browser, the test showed, " you have passed the test", so I know it's not my firewall, I have even went into LW tools, options, bug reports, view example, and scrolled down, and it says recieved incoming this session, which was TRUE. So I know that maybe this is not a firewall issue, because I added the port number from LW into my firewall of sp2. What else could be the problem? Why is it disconnecting me everytime I click to open the program? It disconnnects me for about 10 mins and re connects me back online. Just really frustrating.... can't figure this out.... |

That is exactly my what my point is, all the insulting posts made by him, I have reported to the contact section in the front of this page, and I see no place to report abuse either. This forum is no help what so ever, I have copied and pasted all insulting posts, and send it to the makers of these forums, it's a shame noone can get real help without being insulted and attacked. Don't worry, I have had my words and will make sure something gets done to this forum...thank you very much |
Have just fixed my connection problem with Limewire, Not been able to connect at all since I re-installed it a couple of weeks back after I bought a new hardrive. I know it wasn't my hardware as I plugged in my old drive and Limewire connected ok. Tried all the advice with going into options and unblocking the firewall and stuff with no result. Then I found it was with the latest Java I had installed was interfering with Limewire. **Solution** First un-install Java then un-install Limewire. Restart PC. Re-install Limewire. It worked for me. Hopes this helps other people.. Maybe this solution should be stickied so it doesn't get lost in time. :xeri_ok1ani: |
i tried it, uninstalled java and limewire and then turned off and reinstalled limewire. didn't work for me, good luck to you with it. will someone please help me? nobody is answering my post from a couple days ago. |
i fixed it, with help of LOTR, kinds weird though, i am not a computer geek so i am not going to try and make since of it, but i ended up port forwarding on my router to fix it. i thought if i disconnected my router and connected directly to my isp's modem that it wouldn't matter. oh well i am happy now. by the way this link is awesome and makes it so easy for anyonw wanting to port forward. http://www.portforward.com/english/r...outerindex.htm |
