Can't connect-please help!

A few weeks ago LW was working fine but now LW is continually trying to connect but never actually connecting.
I've followed the 'connection problems/firewall issues' but this didn't help. I also can't find any file named .limewire in documents and settings so I can't delete it.
I've also downloaded the new version but this hasn't made any difference either.
Please help!
