![]() So does any one have any suggestions, here I am with a month old comp. with alll the bells and and whistles and can not run Limewire . I have tried no fire wall no window fire wall and am presently just running the pc tools firewall. Please help if you can... |

![]() Yea that is what i thought , It is quit obvious as the amount and same type of issues in this forum that limewire is not working very well for many people and if there is not a fix out there to get users back , another program will soon be developed to replace what use to be a very popular program. |

![]() I called Aliant who are my service provider and they told me my 6520 Sieman router does not have any type of fire wall , I was wondering this as the other 2 computers that my son's have are using this same router , they are having no problems using LW. the only difference is that they are using XP and I am using Vista. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.12.11 and Java 1.5.0-11 have also tried java 6 but didn't make any difference 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?Dodo (I'm in Australia) 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Have been through this topic and have tried most things mentioned, Have changed Java, have deleted LW prefernces, have turned all firewalls off. Done a little research into my modem and read that it doesn't have router. Nothing seems to work can open LW but only has one bar green. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keryl |
