Default Limewire Not Working

I already read a few pinned topic. I have been using it for almost a year now and now, it failed for the last two weeks. Now, I already checked the thing in my router and it is enabled. I also have only one default firewall from windows XP. I have Limewire 4.12.6.

I don't think there are any possibilities, any ideas?

Only since you got the router? Hmm ... because CableVision is also known by other names such as Optimum Online. They are known to not be overkeen about p2p use. If you search the word Cablevision on the forum, you'll get the idea. Optimum online is listed here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire. But as far as I know, they don't block ports in all areas of their territory. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to 64049 or 50012. This last one seems the best for cablevision.

Nothing really changed. I changed it the ports, it didn't work Any other suggestions? Would reinstall work?

EDIT: I got 3 bars now, no where near the turbo, but it is still something. I still can't search though

EDIT Again : It went back down to one bar

BTW which model of Linksys do you have?

Did you configure your XP firewall? (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

What model version number is it? Do you see it listed here http://portforward.com/routers.htm

Is your SBV5120 Surf Board cable modem simply a modem or router also? Is it wireless or only your linksys?

How about forward a port using port forwarding. Perhaps the linksys UPnP is not behaving. Or is not enabled.

You could also try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)
