Starting Limewire.... doent connect by itself... When i start limewire... the Limewire pro and tip of the day pops up as usual but the Limewire isnt connected to the server. when i click Files/ Connect, it starts conecting but disconnects back after a minute. It worked fine for me yesterday. Yes i am connected to the internet. |

Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? home. 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LM version 4.12.6 Java veriosn 1.5.0_08 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? PeoplePC 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES |
You are detecting a firewall somewhere. From your details, it suggests possibly your isp. Don't disable your XP firewall. Instead, configure it as described here Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) Set LW for manual connect. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Connect & choose manual connect. Then close LW. Open, leave a few minutes, then go to file menu, choose Connect. Give it plenty of time to try to connect. Up to over half an hour. Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls .. make sure UPnP is selected. I was playing around with some of the options in the firewall and proxy and the brick was gone =) thx |
