| No...not all large files are fakes! Just keep searching & you could eventually find some good sources. If a file downloads a certain % then stops, could be that the host of that file has gone offline. You may well be able to resume that incomplete file later. The speed of a download depends on a few factors (your speed, host(s) speed, how many upload slots the host has open, how many hosts you're downloading the file from etc).
