have you got a secutity centre in place? i.e mcafee? if so you need to grant limewire access to the internet. how to do this depends on what firewall you use

haha i'm so stupid. with mcafee it should have asked if you want to grant access to the internet when you tried to connect. if not open mcafee and click on the firewall advanced option. its there somewhere but i don't remember where

Default LW connection bar never goes beyond 1

hi
ya unblocking LW was probably the first thing i tried, but it didnt help.though sometimes LW acquires 'good connection' speed but even then i cant download anything.tried almost everything to resolve LW probs. but nothing has helped so far.

I've never heard of that router brand before. You could instead try port forwarding it instead. That's just in case it doesn't have good support for UPnP. You'd need to set up a static ip for port forwarding.

So you can connect sometimes then. Do you see the brick wall in front of the blue world icon? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1162908502

Talking tried port forwarding and adjusting router

thx for the thread i tried port forwarding and other UPnP adjustments. Every once in a while limewire connects to good connection level, just yesterday it got connected to maximum speed. can it be due to heavy internet traffic causing slow speeds?? because yesterday i used limewire after 11pm when the traffic is considerably low. if u have any other suggestions plz post a reply.
thanks
