I have the latest version of limewire 4.12.6. The older version I had worked fine, but since I upgraded it, it doesn't work anymore. As soon I turn my limewire on, my internet disconnects and doesn't connect until I exit limewire. My firewall is NOT blocking limewire. I have also tried FrostWire, which doesn't work either.

after i completed the setup, i tried opening lime wire, it wont open, instead i get a window with the lime wire logo that says Loading HTML Engine. There is also a window that pops up that says, LimeWire performs best with full access to the Internet. If fire wall or security warnings appear, please unblock lime Wire and choose to remeber the setting. Your firewall software may look different than the below picture. no warning appears on my computer. it doesnt load, it just sits theyre

Try disabling the Windows firewall. Having two firewalls is not the way to go.

Also update your Java. Current version is update 9 or 10.

If your internet disconnects when trying to run Limewire then something is blocking, whether it is a firewall or not.

thanks it worked but now wen i try to download a song, it says connecting, even though it has many hosts
