cancellation within 7 day period- please help

hi, can anyone from the official limewire site or anyone who knows anything about it please help me out here. i downloaded limewire today (thurs 28th dec) and i have had some terrible problems with my laptop since. i managed to download one track and since then i have been inundated with trojans/spyware and malware threats, with all sorts of warning sings appearing on my screen. i immediately uninstalled the limewire software but there seems to be no clear instructions on how to get a refund under the 7 day money back guarantee. can anyone please help me out here, i've had a nightmare with this thing. thanks.

It sounds like you might've been scammed. LW basic is free & LW Pro has a no refund policy...because basic is free & there's no obligation to pay for a version of LW.
Who did you pay for LW & how much did you pay? Pro costs $18.88 USD & includes 6 months of email support & updates;)

i put limewire into google search and it came up with Limewire 2007. i paid via card. is this not how it works? i thought there was a one off payment for membership and then all downloads wre free after that?

Let's keep it here, instead of both here & via PM? It's easier!!

The only official site for downloading of LW is www.limewire.com ...you were scammed.
You should contact your CC company & report it, ask them to cancel your transaction. They'll be able to tell you whether or not to cancel your card.
Have a read through the thread below (page 5 has a list of scam sites)

Providing your CC company can deal with things for you, you may not need to contact the scammers. Just in case though, this thread has advice about getting refunds

If you've got malware problems, make sure to run an AV scan. Scanning with Spybot &/or Ad-Aware won't hurt, if you have them;)

If you do decide to have another try with the official (clean) LW...go for the free basic first, from the site I mentioned before.
Keep your AV program updated & scan all downloaded files with that before opening. There are a lot of viruses out there & LW can't control what's shared.
