Pleaseeeeee Help Cannot Connect :yikes: I used to be able to connect to limewire til about 3 weeks ago. suddenly the bars are all red. Have tried turning off the windows firewall but still nothing. please help. |

I'm having the same problem, connected fine to Limewire last week with full bars (brick firewall on though)!!. But now i have only one bar and can't search anything. I have XP, using a belkin router which i have checked it NAT enabled, and Upnp enabled. Firewall from Mcaffees is allowing Limewire full access.. Also have deleted, Limewire preference file in doc and settings, disabled auto start up, but yet still I have had joy!!! Anyone have any other ideas |
Sorry more details:- 1. OS XP 2. Macafees firewalls 3. How much ram? 1mb 4. Hard Disk space available? 40gb 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 2mb cable 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Belkin 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? NTL 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? This works fine!! 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? Yes new problem 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes |
i have window xp, as far as i know only windows firewall, not sure abt RAM, but HD space around 70GB available, BILLION modem/router(model BiPac 5112S), broadband on cable, connecting from hse, LW 4.12.6, Java 1.5.0_03, ISP Streamyx, it says your test worked, new prob for experienced user, and yes i see a brickwall.
