You have a Nat Firewall in your router and I can only find the instructions to port forward for a dg834g...But it should be similar if not the same set up... Here are the instructions follow them closely especially the static IP part... http://www.portforward.com/english/r...G/Limewire.htm Let us know how you go with that...:rolleyes_2: |
Hi wondering why. thanks for the info. Im in the process of trying your suggestion now. You say there is a nat firewall built into the router. is there anyway of turning that off? also what is a nat firewall in comparison to a firewall? (very limited info on computers) Thanks |
This link will explain what a Nat firewall is.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network...ss_translation I'm actually not sure if you can disable a Nat firewall, maybe someone on the forum might know...:rolleyes_2: |
wondering why you are a legend. it worked. cheers. 1 point though. i followed the portforward link but all i had to do was set up a static ip address and the wall on the globe on lw disappeared. There was know need to mess with the router settings. Is that normal? Cheers again |
That's excellent... I haven't seen just the static IP get rid of the wall...It's good to know...What numbers are you using in the LW and listen ports (just out of interest)...:rolleyes_2: |
