Download speed in the dirt...

Okay. Thanks to birdy I got my firewall picture out of the way. Thank you. However, LimeWire will be full connected, and then shoot down to connecting. And even when fully connected my download speed is like 2-4 kbps. I tested my connection and should be getting about 45-50 kbps transfer rate. Can anyone help me figure out whats wrong.

went away now but am only downloading from 1 host at 0-1 kbps

Is that from the magnetmix site?

yes, it goes to my limewire automaticly

I just noticed that it's fully connect until it starts downloading. It shoots down to 2 green bars.

now all green bars but still only 2kbps from 2 hosts

If those magnetmix files download really slowly, it can be a sign of an ISP putting the brakes on for you:(

Have a read through this & just make sure that your LW's set up properly...see if that helps your download speeds at all

Already did all that. Guess there's just no hope. WHY MUST I HAVE TO BUY MUSIC LEGALLY!?!?!?!?!!!! LOL. Or I could just switch ISPs when my contracts up......muwahahaha!!!!!!

You could try changing ports. If it is your ISP throttling your downloads, there's no guarantee that things would improve but try if you like. Go for a higher port 49152 - 65535 (some people use 64049). You'd have to change LW's listening port & also the port forwarded thru your router.

I can't find an acceptable use/fair access policy for your ISP to show that they're limiting downloads...but that doesn't mean that they're not doing it!

I'd guess that yeah they're anti-P2P. Thanks for all the help birdy but I guess that I'll just have to go to buying CDs.
