Limewire wont connect..security issues
 

Heres the problem...

LimeWire can't connect - icon in lower left corner indicates a firewall is blocking connection.

Followed LimeWire's instructions for adding exception to firewall.

Using TrendMicro's PC-cillin Internet Security 2007:

Added program exception for LimeWire.exe

Added exception for listening port.

Checked Windows firewall and saw that there was an exception for LimeWire there also.

Internet is DSL and comptuer is connected via LAN to a wireless router - have not changed any router settings. Checked ISP - they say they allow peer to peer.

Any suggestions?

Don't run 2 software firewalls together. You won't be more protected...the firewalls will interfere with each other;)
Turn off the Windows firewall & just make sure the PC-cillin one's configured.


There could be an internal firewall within your router. Read the sticky below for lots of connection/firewall info.
