No connection...blocked port....MY INFO INSIDE

Ive used LW for a couple years. I have a new firewall software that I love but it just wont let LW through even when I configure the firewall applications.

OS: Win XP /media center/ service pk 2/ HP Pavillion/ AMD Atholon 64 processor 3700+
Firewall: Forticlient
Ram: 1 GB
Hard disk space: not sure but I have a lot. the HD holds 200GB and I clean my computer all the time. theres quite a bit of space left
Connection type: Cable
Modem: D-Link DCM-202
Router: D-Link DI-524 Wirless
Lime Wire: 4.12.6 / Java 1.5.0_10
ISP: Mediacom
Test Link: yes it worked but only if LW wasnt open. LW blocks internet for everything when open.
Shareing w/ other comp: NO

Yes theres a brick wall icon over the earth. Its annoying because I never had a problem with LW until I got the Forticlient. I really like the Forticlient because it does a great job as an anti-virus, firewall, web filter, etc.
Ive played with the firewall configuration and set it to give LW full access but it isnt working.

Thanks
Brendan

wondering why February 5th, 2007 04:13 PM

I've never heard or the Forticlient firewall and googling doesn't seem to help with any info...I'd suggest if they have a support site you should go there and ask them....:rolleyes_2:

Im working on that also.

Forticlient is a home version of Fortinet. It is not a highly advertised program. Many of the best software out there isnt advertised because it doesnt need to be. Fortinet is often used for entire corporation networks and is very effective....and expensive. If you go into a computer repair/ restore type store...the kind of place where the guys are really into building their own stuff....(Im not a computer guru) they will probably know about Fortinet and Forticlient. That is how it was recommended to me. The guys who obsess with the best usualy recomend it.

For the most part Ive been really impressed with it. Just this one problem of not understanding why it isnt allowing LW. Its a pretty tight software. Tons better than Nortons.

FYI...you can download the trial version of forticlient @ download.com and play with all of its features. It can lots of good things.
