Shantom Hi.
You should only have one java version working at once

Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Now! Use this Link to get JRE 6 Use the off line installer NOT the (recormended) one,
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Follow thease instructions exactly.
When you install java, Im not sure at what point, But Zone alarm should pop up, Saying java is asking permision to connect, Give it full permision!
Let us no what happend.
PS.. Who is your ISP and what time of day are you trying to connect.

Hi, thanks for the advice followed what you said exactly, only thing is zonealarm didnt ask for permission for java to access the net, anyways it was working this morning before installing the different java and it is working after installing the new one, i will let you know if i have any more probs, if i do then im completely baffled, thanks x
