connection help please
 
1. OS version? XP home
2. What firewalls you have? windows
3. How much ram? not sure but have connected before
4. Hard Disk space available? 69.9 GB
5. Connection type? Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? modem surfboard cable modem SB5101 router trendnet TEW-452BRP
7. Where are you trying to connect from ? apartment
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.12.6 pro java 1.5.0_11
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? rogers
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. yes we have a laptop that we connect wirelessly
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes but I have connected through windows firewall before


I think it may be my router or ISP I called them they said they don't block p2p

we got the router about the same time we switched ISP's so am not sure where the problem is this is the first time I have tried connecting to LW since we got the router and new ISP

Rogers are known to block p2p, but they wont tell you that...

You could try changing the listen port in limewre...
go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewall
and try something between 49152 up to 65535, try this one 64049....

I just looked at the Port Forwarding site and your router wasn't listed, the closest was a 432, you could try logging into your router and see if it's the same set up as this one and try Port Forwarding...
