Your router probably has a firewall in it and needs to be set up but unfortunately you left out the model # of your router.

My bad. It's a DI-514

See if port forwarding fixes things. Use the instructions here
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm

Don't forget to set up a static IP first, the instructions have a link for that;)

Remember...LW's listening port, port forwarded thru your router & port in the 'manual port forward' box within LW all have to be the same number:)

You could also try this, but port forwarding's likely to give you better results...
If the router supports UPnP, enable it within the router & choose the UPnP option within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Apply > ok.

thx

Thanks for the help, I'll try that. I don't know if this helps, but sometimes I randomly get a good connection and it dies on me when I start to download things.

Oi Vey. It seems nothing has worked. I do feel kinda robbed of $18.88. I'm not ready to give up yet, but i'm very tempted to switch to something else. :( I do appreciate the efforts though.

Try uninstalling McAfee allot of people are having problems with it on Vista. You can use Avast for virus protection while you test it. You can get Avast at the link below.
