Connection issues with Linux version

Just installed LimeWire for Linux. Open it up, and it gets stuck on "connecting" with only one green bar lit up in the lower left-hand corner.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Mandriva Linux 2007
2. What firewalls you have? None.
3. How much ram? 512mb
4. Hard Disk space available? 50gb +/-
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Paradyne modem, model number 6381-A3-200-0GR; Linksys router, model NR041
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? [B******[/B]
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.2.6, JRE 1.5.0
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Green Mtn Access (gmavt.net)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First try on Linux
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? No

Any thoughts?

Hi linuxguru

It's been a few months since I tried LW on Mandriva 2007, so I'm going by memory and am very rusty.

IIRC, the Shorewall blocked LW connections, and I had to set the userlevel to one level lower than the default installation level before LW could get connected.

The current LW version is 4.12.11, so maybe updating your LW will help.

Upgraded to latest LW version, and now it says I'm behind a firewall, but I don't have the Linux firewall enabled. How can I find out where this so called firewall is?

Hi
Did you upgrade your java at the same time U updated L/W if not try it heres
a link.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Now! Use this Link to get JRE 6 Use the off line installer NOT the (recormended) one,
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Follow thease instructions exactly.

You may also need to reset your router to allow L/W access but I cant find
that "Linksys NR041" model to instruct you how.
Do java update first. post back if that hasent fixed it.
Peace.
