 Hi LOTR Thanks for the speedy suggestions. Having failed to connect I did apply port forwarding to the router (taking instructions from this forum). I didn't manually allocate an IP - as my machine in the only pc on the network - but I have now. My Java install in the latest - downloaded as part of the natty LimeWire install. I had configure my firewall but that is now disabled. I had NOT forced ip within LW but I have now. I HAVE checked and recheck all settings. Still no connection. Am I now a lost cause? Chris ps I voted LOTR as the best book ever (BBC Radio 4, UK) but that was before I read the Dark Tower sevenology  |
