Default Unable to connect? You betcha!

I've had limewire for a year or so, and it has worked fine. The other day, though, it stopped connecting (what a surprise, as I am in the connection problem subforum.) I have tried tons of things to try to get my limewire to work, searching all over this subforum. Eventually, I got lazy with the downloading, deleting settings-none of that junk was working. So here's my speculations:

1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? I'm pretty sure it's just the windows one, but SpySweeper might have one and McAffee is most likely turned off
3. How much ram? Not sure
4. Hard Disk space available? 963 mb out of 51.2 Gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys RT41P2
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.12.11, Java 1.5.0_07
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Time Warner Cable
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? 'Your test worked!'
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. yes, but only because it stopped working. I got eMule and Shareaza. They didn't work. My computer also shares an internet connection with 2 other computers, 3 phones, and wireless internet. It stopped working long after I got these things.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem with a semi-experienced user.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yeppers.

wondering why is just really nice
Default

Just check and make sure that you only have one firewall working, having more can cause a conflict and leave your computer vulnerable...

It could be a security update that has changed the configurations of your firewalls, so you really need to have a look at each of them and see what is running and what is not....

Also maybe something has reset in your router, check your UPnP and see if it is still enabled, also you can try Port Forwarding to see if that helps...

I can't find the instructions for the RT41P2 but here are the instructions for the RT31P2.....
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...2/Limewire.htm

I also found this site it may help you work out what is going on with your router...
