Cannot connect
 

Hello:

I am a new user of Limewire. I installed Limewire yesterday and was able to immediately begin downloading music with-out any issues or difficulties. Downloaded 5 pieces of music.

I had to turn off my computer for a short time. After turning computer back on and accessing internet (and Limewire program) my program would not and will not now connect. I have no error messages. The connections tab shows no activity.

My OS is windows XP home, using dial up connection.

Would be grateful for helpful advice.

Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

With Dial up, sometimes it's best to leave it for 15 or more mins to try to connect. If no good, close & try again.

I have fiddled with the firewall settings and
apparently have got the connection up and
running. Some music is downloading.

I am quite new to music sharing.

I just finished re-reading
'The Lord of the Rings' last week -
still a great book.
