Help a tard with connecting

This is my first attempt to use lime wire just purchased it a few minutes ago. I have tried everything I could to get it to work but can't.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Win xp pro
2. What firewalls you have? Windows
3. How much ram? 1gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 48gig
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? don't know
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.12.11 java 1.50_09
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? pinncom.com
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? [B******ed[/B]
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 1st try
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes I do

The brick wall in front of the globe means there is some firewall interfering with Limewire. Have you configured your firewall to allow Limewire access to the internet? You should tell us what modem/router you have, as these can have built in firewalls. Your answer to question 10 is not clear. Could you clarify your answer?

Good Luck

wondering why May 9th, 2007 11:37 PM

You probably have a Nat Firewall in your modem/router....So if you have a look under it, it will have the info we need to give you the instructions to port forward....We need the make and model number...
