Unhappy 'Starting Connection'

More often than not Limewire Pro tells me that I don't 'have an active internet connection' and yet I DO. Surfing is fine, torrent client works OK. So what's the problem ?
I've told McAfee to 'allow full access' to Limewire and in the recent past I deleted my Limewire preferences folder as advised. Anyone help ?
ISP is ntl/Virgin Media.
As far as I can tell Modem is Virgin Media, model number EO8C007.
System - Windows XP - Service Pack 2

Are you trying to run your torrent program at the same time? When I try that, my LW connection suffers.

Hope this helps

Probably until you start your torrent program

I never run both at the same time. If you wanted to, you could download the newest Beta version of Limewire. It handles torrent files and splits up the bandwidth between Limewire (gnutella network) files and torrent files.

Good Luck
