search with NO RESULT I have no search result, only some info at the top on yellow background with a lock... |
It could be the License warning thing. Just have a look, Go, Tools/Options/Searching/Basic, it says, "Show License Warning" Untick the box if you don't want to filter out copyright Files in search results. This option is enabled at setup, The choice is your decision. Do a test to see if search results improve. You can reverse this change at any time, the choice is yours. P.S. A file that requires a license, is protected so if you obtain a license, that file cannot be shared. So don't put those files in your shared folder. That will cause more frustration to others as they play only silence. Peace. |
I still have only message: Only search with a ( locker symbol) are official LW comunications. (at the top of the window where usually I had some search result - on yellow background) |
So did you do what I said ? I need some feedback, I cant read Minds. Help us to help YOU. Peace. |
I did what You said, even did system restore and still have no search result. It was Ok with previous LW, after I upgrade was ok for a few days and later stoped working. I did delete and install again, still not searching. |
Hi Janusz. Sounds like things have become jumbled. Follow these instructions exactly. So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions. Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs. Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/ & make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked) Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search. Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything) Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now! Go to, START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs, now completely remove all versions of java. Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now! Use this Link to get (jre-1.5.11) Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 When Download is completed. Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java. Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer LimeWire If you need help, Shout, If it fixed your problem or not, Feedback helps others. Peace |

Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more... Also that padlock notice you see at the top of your searches is to notify you of a particular search result that contains a virus... It's a 75.7 KB .exe & shows up as "Urgent LW update - download & install now". If people download that thing they could end up infected. To try to prevent careless people from downloading a dangerous file, the warning banner was added to LW's interface. The padlock symbol doesn't apply to music or video etc, only to LW updates... |
Thank You mickjapa, I did and is working. For 55 and Polish not bad. (?) thanks for instruction step by step. I lost all my library, but I can search again and find. most of my songs I burn anyway, so not big dill. 1 more time thanks. |
Janusz Hi. See even us olds, Can & are doing IT Janusa I don't use the default folder. Moving L/W Shared Folder LimeWire's shared folder is the subject for attac by hakers n the like. What I have done, & many others do, is make a folder with a name that has no relation to sharing, or L/W (Hennry's Groove) or somthing obscure. On another drive, then point L/W to it. To do this Go to Start/My Computer, Doubleclick a drive D,E,F,G or whatever, Right click, choose New folder, name it, Then with L/W closed, Go to L/Wshared, cut & paste your files to the new folder. Now! Open L/W Go, Tools/Options/Sharing/ADD,click on, look in, bar and navigate to your new folder. Highlight it and press select Now! Open L/W Go, Tools/Options/Saving/Browse,click on, look in, bar and navigate to your new folder. Highlight it and press select. You can make separet folders for Film,Music,Pic's n whatever you want,Just ADD new & repete. Peace. |
