When u uninstall limewire make sure the limewire.exe isn't running in the processes under taskmanager anymore.
Otherwise it won't uninstall the .jar files in ur limewire folder.

In taskmanager/processes click on the limewire.exe and end process, then check ur limewire folder and delete everything that is in there manually.
Now reinstall ur limewire.

Another option is to get ur hands on the StubInstaller.exe, execute the stubinstaller, let it dl the files and install, after install start lm and check the connection it should be running smoothly.

when u uninstall the limewire again, (make sure lm folder is empty) and reinstall ur own limewire it should be back to normal.
