Question LimeWire appears fine/connctd but searches yield NOTHING?!?

First post & I.dunno if I'm doin this right or not...it's kinda early & I'm not the greatest at things like this so I hope someone will bear w/me for a few minutes, however, I'm clicking on LimeWire on my desktop PC, no firewall enabled, LmeWre pulls up without any issue, when I look under "File" it has "connected" highlighted, so I'm assuming I am connected...however the problem is this: When I click "audio" and "search", I then enter the song title I'm looking for, it accepts it & pops up in a search box but it is taking FOREVER for the lil' box w/the "searched for song title" to fill up w/color & isn't yielding any search results?!? In short...it appears to be searching, but no results will be shown and it is taking SOOOO long? No problems starting LW up, and no problems, as recently as yesterday, downloading songs, etc. Why would it do this now? I've tried shutting down, reconnecting, checking connection status, etc.,etc.,.....Any idea's? I'm pretty crappy at handling computer "issues", as I don't know very much about the "logistics" of programs or how to troubleshoot. Any helps appreciated!!![/COLOR][/B][/I]

Try this: Problems with the search

And if that's no help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.
