Hello Everyone - I Need Help Connecting

I'm new to computer stuff so its not a surprise that I'm stumped - I can't connect.
I recently downloaded LimeWire 4.12.11, my system is XP SP2 and I'm using AVG Free Anti-Virus, Windows Firewall, Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-aware SE Personal.

I've done the excemption thing in windows firewall however I dont see a thing on the Connection Status view. The Connection quality remains at one bar indefinitely and there is no indication of a Firewall problem.

I should also memntion that I'm in the West Coast Malaysia/Thailand area living on a boat and my internet access is via WiFi.

I know you've given us some information, but if you could answer all of these questions, it will help more!

stayonthesidewalk,

Have you been able to connect to LW in the past?
Try updating your Java to this version. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before installing the new one.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Rather than turning off your Norton firewall, configure it to allow LW! Make sure that the XP firewall's turned off...2 software firewalls together will cause problems;)

Some people have had probs with a Windstream firewall before...check out this link below & make sure that's not your problem.
Cant Connect

Otherwise, try to find out the brand & model of your modem/router. Have a look on the devices that connect to your computer (also look underneath).
