Norton 2007 Virus Scanner

I am on Limewire 4.12.6 and installed Norton Anti-Virus 2007 a ferw days ago. Lime wire opens but nothing is returned when I search on anything. HAs anyone had this issue before?

My OS is XP service pack 2

Norton is frequently mentioned as a problem. Have you attempted to configure it to allow Limewire access to the internet?

Configuring firewall rules for Web-enabled programs

Good Luck :rolleyes_2:

Many, many people are very displeased with the new, so-called improved Norton 2007...

If... IF you can get your money back (Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha as far as dealing with Symantec and returns is concerned!)---

Try Avast Professional

avast! antivirus software - computer virus, worm and Trojan protection by ALWIL Software

Many folks find it to be superior to Norton Internet Security (any version) and it uses far less of your resources.

I gave up with Norton (except for comparison testing about every 6 months) almost 2 years ago. Avast Pro has never caused a problem... ONCE you have it set up !

Although I am not a NAV2007 user, I instead use NAV2005, I am aware that some NAV users have trouble with the Internet Worm Protection feature. Try temporarily turning it off and see how LW reacts.

I've had a few successful threads with these instructions...;)
It's a step by step for configuring Norton security 2007 and limewire...
Port Forwarding for the Norton Internet Security 2007

But the Internet Security may be different to the Anti Virus...

Just for info, the Norton products that most people purchase are as follows:

Norton AntiVirus (aka NAV)

Norton Personal Firewall (aka NPF)

Norton Internet Security (consisting of Norton AntiVirus & Norton Personal Firewall combined into one package and aka NIS)

Norton System Works (a packaged suite of apps consisting of various essential PC utilities and Norton AntiVirus aka NSW)

Hopes this helps
