need connection help

Downloaded limewire a couple weeks ago, used it once and all was fine. Go to use it again, and nothing. Says it is trying to connect to the network. been reading this forum, tried registering on this site, did the test where you click on the link and it says turbocharged connection, and the other test where it says you test worked. tried changing the listening ports, checked to see if limewire was listed as an exception on the firewall, tried rebooting the computer, and just about anything else. Have windows xp with the windows firewall and have dsl through verizon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was able to click on the 2 blue links after I posted. The Limewire one says " your test worked" , and the gnutellaforums one says " turbo charged connection, then quickly goes to 'firewall deteced', yet still displays turbocharged connection.

Most likely port forwarding for your Westell is needed. Follow the instructions very carefully here & setting up a static ip (click on link) is the most important step here so don't miss it. You must do it BEFORE you actually do the port forwarding, else the process won't work: Port Forwarding for the Westell 2100 Wirespeed,
else if that doesn't look like your model then try this one Port Forwarding for the Westell A90-220015-04

not working...

Went to that page you mentioned, printed off everything, followed the directions to a tee, and I can't seem to get past where you enter the IP address in the browser. YOu need to explain this **** to me like I'm a 4 year old, as I've never been very computer savy. Thanks again.

I've never used a Westell modem/router before. But first thing you need to do is Setting up Static ip for Windows XP (click on link) before following the steps in the other links. In the other links you have instructions for (1) LimeWire settings. & (2) Westell router port forward rules settings.
