Connecting problems

I've used Limewire for a while now and never had a problem. A few days ago I've been stuck on connecting. Although it says that there's a firewall detected it hasn't interfered with it up to this point. I'm using Windows XP at home with about 2-3GB of ram and a shaw secure firewall. I've made sure that the firewall allows Limewire but nothing works. I've also noticed that I'm not the only one that has had this problem recently. I have Limewire 4.12.11 and Java 1.6.0_01 according to Limewire.

System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) for a few more details. BTW if you are usiing a Shaw firewall, then I hope XP firewall is disabled. XP firewall and most others don't normally work well with others active, & in fact generally results in less security not more due to them clashing.

Let's see here, I have a cable connection and there's another computer using a wireless router to mine. Yes, Windows firewall is disabled. And I was way off with the drive space. I've got 37.2 GB total with 5.44 GB left. The test says it worked. I have no other P2P programs or anything like it except for Limewire of course. If you need any other information let me know.

Ok wireless routers have internal NAT firewalls, question is whether yours uses UPnP or not. What brand & model is it? I presume you are connecting from home? I presume you have latest version LW & Java? Who is your ISP?

I have the latest LW but I'm not sure about Java. Yes I'm at home but I have no clue what UPnP is. I doubt the router has anything to do with it since this computer is using a cable connection but I believe my router is a Vonage brand. I have no clue what so ever what the problem could be though as nothing has changed that would alter LW in any way. But if you could tell me a link to a page to update my Java that would be really helpful as well. (I stated the versions of LW and Java I had in first post btw.)
