no connection ? help
 

not quite sure whats wrong i rebooted my computer i have done it several times i have used lw in the past even a few weeks ago i have over 300 gig. of free harddrive im running a 5meg. service cable same box as before its not a firewall problem it says its connecting and dont do anything it never connects to lw i have tryed to remove the sp2 that didnt help using norton and its permit allways i have the fire walls for windows shut down even added settings for the windows firewall just in case tryed to shut down norton didnt help every other program i have works just fine im runnin java 6.1 set up for plug en play still a no go can some one help please

oh and im still using 4.8.1 dont see any reason to upgrade again if i cant get it to work

Try these fixes...One by one...;)

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....(4th one down)

Try deleting your preference folder...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Right-click the Limewire icon and going to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000. (but only if you're using Windows 2000 or later.) Somebody reported changing to Windows NT compatibility fixed their problem despite not using that operating system version.


Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator. (but 'only' if you're the admin of your comp.!)

Still no luck !!!!
