Firewall Issues My problem is i can't connect and the whole firewall thing is blocking it. THis has happened before and i went through a long process with port forward and what not and finally i fixed it by just changine my listening port and my manual port forward. Now that won't fix it. Been here many times please help. Also idk what firewall I have and how to find out. I can't find anything. 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP 2. What firewalls you have? IDK, not microsoft windows 3. How much ram? don't know 4. Hard Disk space available? don't know 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) LAN 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Modem=SB4100, and router is a wired Linksys BEFSR41. 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW=4.12.11 and java= 1.6.0_01 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Comcast? 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked! 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Have another computer in the house, we are both connected to same router and modem. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. same problem with an experienced user. 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? COuldn't tell you, if you told me how i'lll explain. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! You are using a LAN. Is anybody else in the house using LW? If yes, get them to use a different port than the one you are using. Also, problems can occur if you have used another program that uses the same port. Rebooting normally fixes it. |
idk We are not using the same port, rebooting did not fix the problem. Has this happened to anyone? |
