Cool Green Lime but no start up?

Hey there does any one have any ideas about why Lime Wire will show me the Green Lime Wire start up logo and then nothing else. Can't get it to start up at all. I have tried reinstalling and still the same thing happens.

I have been using Lime Wire for a few months and never had this happen. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Autopsee.

If you're having the same problem, I would think that you would need to provide your system details...

Default Here is ya details.

Have to say not entirely feeling safe about this. Who are you in regards to LW?

1. OS version? xp media centre
2. What firewalls you have? NVIDIA
3. How much ram? 1Gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 75gig
5. Connection type? ADSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Speedstream, 4200 Modem, PPPoE Modem Router
7. Where are you trying to connect from? House
8a. What version of LimeWire? 4.12.11
8b. Java do you have? 1.6.0
9. Who is your ISP provider? Grapevine
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Says "Your test Worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? This is not my first try with LW I have been using it for a few months now and this problem has only just occured.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Can't get that far.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Port Forwarding, I think.

If ya start asking for my mothers maiden name I'm gunna get worried.

Thanks,

Autopsee.

I can assure you supplying those details will not put you or your computer at risk...We ask for those details because everyones set up is different and we are not mindreaders, we cannot tell what a problem is about without some sort of information..
Also I do need your mother's maiden name ...Just joking

It could be your Nvidia firewall that is blocking limewire follow these instructions to configure it properly...
Port Forwarding for the NVidia ActiveArmor Firewall

If no luck.... Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....(4th one down)
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
Java 6.1 has caused some issues with limewire users...

If that doesn't help... Try deleting your preference folder...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Hopefully one of those fixes will at least open limewire up for you...But once you have it open you may notice a wall in front of the globe in limewire, that will mean you are still being blocked by a firewall...Your modem/router does have an inbuilt Nat Firewall so you will have to open a port for limewire to pass through...
These are your instructions for Port Forwarding...
Port Forwarding for the Siemens 4200
