Cant Connect (Stuck @ Connecting..1 green bar) Ok...to get started here is the info checklist: 1. OS version Windows Xp (SP2) 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall 3. How much ram? 2 Gig 4. Hard Disk space available? 265 Gigs 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Some cable modem with the name terayon? lol  7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.8.1 Pro and Java 5 update 11 9. Who is your ISP provider? Cox Comm 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked....... 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Nope.. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Limewire user for over 3 years 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Um...I dont have that in my interface lol, not that it matters because it wont connect with my firewalls totally disabled 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnP Alright with that said, I have tried everything I can think of and I have done everything I can find to do within this forum. I have avoided posting but I have run out of options. I have reinstalled java and limewire multiple times and have tried the preference folder deletion trick several times also with no luck anywhere. This is not a firewall problem I am sure of. It wont work with them disabled and I've done everything to make sure limewire is not affected by them regardless. I have used this program for over 3 years without ever having one single problem. What in the heck is going on?? :bangh: I am not the only one with this problem. Is the gnutella network having a mid life crisis? |
Perhaps Cox is shaping your bandwidth...you could give them a call and try to find out. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-limewire.html (Cox is #6) Good Luck :D Dan |
I suppose that is possible, however if that were the case it would make sense that *none* of my P2P programs would work no? Not just limewire? |
