Connection/Firewall issue

Used to use Limewire and have not for sometime. Bought a Netgear Router 2 months ago and attempted Limewire for first time tonight. No joy!

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP Sp2
2. What firewalls you have? Windows & Netgear Router DG834GT
3. How much ram? 1GB
4. Hard Disk space available? 75GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Tiscali Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Netgear DG834GT
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.12.06 & java 1.6.0_01
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? tiscali
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? - 'Your test worked!'
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No & Azereus works fine thro router after I opened port
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. This is a new problem with router or ISP from a once reg user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Router is set as default. I have tried PnP & manual with no success. Port is open for TCP/UDP . Still no connection

Winckers,
Tiscali might have something to do with your problem;) Have a look through these links & see if anything helps.
Tiscali & Limewire
can't connect between 5pm-11pm
I have found a solution to getting Limewire to work with Tiscali

If Tiscali are causing the problem (some people just can't seem to connect & some eventually can), there might not be much you can do. One of those threads above tells you how to change ports...see if that works for you.
Here are a few things to try as well, if you like.

Make sure that your XP firewall is configured to allow LW.
Have a look at these instructions for port forwarding. Don't forget the step of setting up a static IP address.
Port Forwarding for the Netgear DG834GT
LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within a router must all be the same number.

Reinstall this version of Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Read some more replies and thought i'd give BearShare a blast as Limewire has died. It worked first time without problem. I would say that rules out my ISP. Come on Limewire get your act together. I shall be Bearing it for the future.
