Angry Cant connect. windows xp and panda internet security.

i am having the same problems as everybody else. i was on limewire yesterday and connected fairly quickly after i added limewire to the exceptions for the firewall. today it wont connect, all it shows is one bar and there is those bricks infront of the globe thing. help please.

You may have the same problem, but everyone has a different setup. Could you provide us with a little more information?

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) XP Home
2. What firewalls you have? Panda internet security, and windows firewall
3. How much ram? not much, 256 mb i think
4. Hard Disk space available? about 12gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Comcast high speed cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? it is a tuchstone telephony modem. not sure on the number
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. limewire 4.12.11, java is the newest, updated yesterday. not sure on exact version
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? comcast
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it said it works or watever
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. used it a while back. wanted more music for my ipod.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes all the time

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? i am pretty sure UPnP is set up and working.

Don't use 2 software firewalls together, they'll interfere with each other rather than making you more secure
Choose 1, configure it to allow LW & disable the other. Check below for help with configuring, depending on which firewall you've chosen to use. First link for Panda, second link for XP firewall.

Did your connection start dying after you updated Java? Some people have had trouble with 1.6.0_01. Try this version instead. Use the offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.

What's the model number of your modem (have a look underneath as well)? Do you also have a router?

modem model is tm502g.
i have no router. i did the link for panda security and it didn't help. i will uninstall java and then install what you linked. i updated. then it worked. then i got home tihis afternoon and it wouldn't connect. i think the java updates might of installed a few days ago actually.
