Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

![]() 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP Home 2. What firewalls you have? Windows (disabled), Router (Disabled) and Bullguard (Allow Limewire by exception) 3. How much ram? 2Gb 4. Hard Disk space available? 350Gb+ 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband (via cable) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Modem NTL:250 cable Modem, Router Belkin Wireless G plus Mimo 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.12.11 pro, Java 1.5.0_01 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Virgin Media (Ex NTL) 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test works 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Yes 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, but I've followed the instructions and put Limewire on my exceptions list 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnP enabled Virgin Media claim to not be blocking p2p, but as I've read elsewhere, this may not be strictly true! Many Thanks for any advice! |

![]() Yes, it was at another time of the day, but I have since gone online at the same time and it was fine. Very frustrating! You seem to do all of the right things and it doesn't work, then for the shear hell of it you try again and it works! |
