Default i can only get one bar of connection! i can't even search! it was working fine b4

I've had LW for about a month or so and it was working perfectly fine. But now all of the sudden i can't get past the first green bar of connection. I tried disconnecting my firewall and that didn't work. There is nothing in the FAQ's about this and i just can't figure it out. Somebuddy please help!!!!!!

Default Damn Firewall Issue

I have had the same situation as others with the firewall blocking connections. I too have been using LW for a long time, and until now, I haven't had any problems with this firewall issue.
Here are the details:

ISP: ATT/YAHOO
"YOUR TEST WORKED"-----did that and this is the message
Not sharing
Experienced LW user
Brickwall present in front of the blue world
Not sure if prot forwarding or UPnP enabled.

Firstly Tiscali are your downfall as they shape p2p connection at peak times of the day, this can range anywhere from 5pm to 12pm and there have been reports of even longer hours than that...

If you cannot connect at all outside of these time's could you supply your modem/router information, to find this have a look at the box that connects you to the internet and turn it upside down, the make and model number will be there...
Also I will need to know what version of limewire and Java you are using...

Firstly you can try updating your Java...
Uninstall your current Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.12 offline version....(4th one down)
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Then check with these instructions that your McAfee security center is properly configured with limewire..
Port Forwarding for the McAfee Security Center

Your Modem/router also has an inbuilt Nat Firewall, these are you instructions to Port Forward...
Port Forwarding for the Efficient(Siemens) Speedstream 5100

Ok...firstly your Java is a bit outdated..
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.12 offline version....(4th one down)
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

If that doesn't help...
Try deleting your preference folder...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Still no luck....
Well Dunno for some of the important questions isn't going to help me help you...

Who do you pay to have the internet on ??

If you turn the little box (Modem/router) upside down that you connect to, to get your internet it will tell you the name and model number for it...

I tried updating java and that didn't work so i tried to delete the preference folder and/or the .limewire folder like the link said but i couldn't find that. How exactly do u find it? We pay telus for net and I couldn't find anything on the bottom of my router. Is there perhaps somewhere else this would be?
