Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Comcast 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? My test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. More or less experienced user 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? I did before my problems started 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I have not a clue, but it is staight wall to comp connection for right now. Ok it was Tuesday evening I was downloading some music and all of a sudden LimeWire quit working on me. The LW window closed and now everytime I try to access my limewire folder where all the downloaded media is kept I keep getting a Window internet explorer error message and saying I have to close the folder. "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." If I high light it or try to drag the folder the message gets played again. If I right click the folder same problem. I try to delete it same problem. I have uninstalled LimeWire twice and reinstalled it. To no avail it's not working. I have tryed deleting the Java applet off my comp and letting LW reinstall java, I uninstall and these files pop up sayin "hs_err_pidxxx" (x representing different numbers) I open the text document and it says "# # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:" I have no clue what this means I have Norton Antivirus and I've tryed to do multiple full systems scans with Norton deciding to unexpectantly quit in the middle of scanning. Is it a Virus? I have not a clue. This is only effecting LW, I have my interent connection fine and eveyting else seems fine. PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE :super: |
Firstly try going to your add/remove programs and uninstall whatever Java/s are there... Then re-install the JRE 5.12 offline version....(4th one down) Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 Now with the error message you are getting when you try to access your shared folder sounds like there is a file in there that has a corruption in it... Do you remember what it was you where downloading when Limewire shut down ?? If you do, do a comp search for it and when you find it delete it .... |
