Default connection problems

Ok, so I dont know much about computers. Actualy thats an understatement....I know NOTHING about computers
So basically I cant get my limewire to connect, its got one bar thats green and the rest are red. I have tried turning off my firewall but it didnt do anything. So i noticed in other forums that people often know about there different programs and stuff. But I know very little. I would post the Qand A sheet, that gives information on my computer ect. But i realy dont know half the things written on it. Yes I am quite screwed. Anyway I know that I have the version 4.12 and I am on a windows computer.
any help?
