3 Green Connection Quality Bars but no search results My computer is currently running windows xp and i have insight broadband internet, and up until recently my limewire has been working fine. Over the past couple months, my connection quality has shown 3 green bars, but limewire returns no search results:mad:. Any help? |

Sorry about that... 1. Windows XP Pro 2. Windows Firewall and Trend-Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 3. 1GB ram 4. 3.53 GB free on Drive C: and 103 GB free on Drive D: 5. Cable internet 6. Motorola Surfboard SB5101 modem and Netgear Rangemax Wireless router WPN824v2 7. house 8. I've tried LW 4.12.11 and i'm on LW 4.13.6 9. Insight BB 10. Don't use the XP firewall & PC-Cillin firewalls together. 2 firewalls won't protect you more, they'll conflict. Turn off the XP firewall & configure PC-Cillin to allow LW. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 If you're still having search problems after that, try the advice here: Problems with the search And if that's no help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. To get rid of your firewall icon, try port forwarding for your router. LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded through a router must all be the same number;) |
