Limewire Won't Launch & No Cust. Support?

I am running Windows XP SP2.
I have the Java 1.6, newly downloaded.

I recently purchased LimeWire Pro, version 4.12.11.

I installed it and it installed perfectly fine.

When I try to launch, the LimeWire window opens on the center of the screen for a second or two, then disappears. Nothing opens. Nothing happens. LimeWire never opens.

I've emailed customer support 5 times, beginning about a month or two ago, and have not received a response to this date.

Can anyone help? If not, can anyone tell me who to call or how I can find out about a refund, because the customer support people at LimeWire will not offer assistance.

I feel like I've been had.

Thanks.

You can try these fixes...
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...

Worked but...

Yes, that seemed to clear up the problem...as in, LimeWire runs perfectly fine now. However, now I don't have the most recent version of Java, and I'm worried that other apps won't work properly now. Is there any way to have the most recent Java update AND have LimeWire Pro working correctly (or working at ALL for that matter)?

Were you having any issues with the previous version of Java before you updated? I can't see that this will be an issue. Just enjoy Limewire. I have Pro 4.13.6 and also Java 1.6.1 and have had no problems. Not sure why some people are having trouble.

how to do that?

How would I go about getting the 4.13 version? I just like having the newest versions because they usually have all the glitches worked out by then. I'll try getting the new Java and the 4.13 and then see if there are issues. If there are, then I'll go back to 4.12 and java 5.11.

4.13.6 is the latest Beta Version and it works fine on my computer with Java 1.6.1 as well...
You can get the Beta version using your personal download page, just scroll down and click on New Beta Available...

did it, works

Did that and it works fine. So, on my computer, the beta 4.13 WORKS with the new Java. But the new Java does NOT work with the 4.12 Pro version...for me. Either way, appreciate your help and everything here is running great now.

What exactly is beta about this though? Looks the same to me! :)

They have a Beta version for users to test out before they make them the next official release...With this Beta series they have introduced torrent downloading using limewire as well as other things...
The betas' are always an odd number ie. the 4.13 series, when it gets officially released it will probably become 4.14...
There is also a Beta testers forum where the developers frequent, that way you can report bugs and other types of problems you may be experiencing with the latest Beta...;)

torrent?

Yes, torrent downloading seemed to be the only thing I could tell right off the bat that was different.

What exactly IS that?

Anyway, I don't even care about what extras it has...as long as it's working, it's ALLL good.
