![]() I just installed limewire and once I try to search I get the "enabling open information sharing" message. I leave the program running in hopes that it'll eventually pull something up but so far-no luck. I'm not too computer savvy and hope someone out there can help. |

![]() Kimberly27 You have to tell the program what to search for, it is not going to do any kind of search just because it is installed. What you have done is the equivalent of installing a word processor and expecting it to write a letter for you without you doing anything. Computer savvy or not, you are suppose to do something to get a reaction. Shark Chum PS. If I have misinterpreted your posting then please correct me if not then I suggest you download and read the LW manual. |

![]() I have tried searching for audio clips if that's what you mean, but I get the message that LW is currently connecting to the internet and won't return many results until it is fully connected-how long does that take? It's been running all day. I have a dsl modem. |

![]() Kimberly27 It seems that you could have a serious technical problem, please supply the information asked for on this link: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html and we will see if we can provide you with a solution for your problem. UK Bob |

I've added LW as an accepted program and enabled UPnP. |

![]() It's probably not a good idea to disable the firewalls at your workplace. You could end up getting in trouble if anything happens. Instead, you should configure the firewalls to allow Limewire access to the internet. It's best to have only one firewall active, as multiple firewalls can actually result in less security. However, as you are at work, I can't recommend that you meddle with things. You could try port-forwarding your router: Port Forwarding for the Sonicwall TZ-170 Windstream could be using a firewall...see this link: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html Good Luck ![]() Dan |

![]() Kimberly27 I agree with Muhctekdano and, as you are at work, cannot advise you to interfere with your office equipment, for obvious reasons. I would suggest that you have a friendly chat with your IT security person to see if he or she can do anything for you. To be honest, that is the safest way for you to get what you want without compromising your workplace's security. UK Bob |
