xxvicious13xx Hi. The java version you are using is problematic to L/W, & the L/W version is out of date, so lets have a clean install. Follow these instructions exactly. So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions. Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs. Re BOOT Your computer NOW Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/ & make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked) Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search. Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything) Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now! Go to, START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs, now completely remove all versions of java. Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down. Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 When Download is completed. Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java. Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer LimeWire Universal Plug and Play may not be working properly Due to this update. "Security Update for Windows XP (KB931261)" Removing this update is not Recommended & could make your computer vulnerable to attack. For more info on this update, click on this blue link. Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-019: Vulnerability in Universal Plug and Play Could Allow Remote Code Execution (931261) If this update is installed on your computer & UPnP is in use by Limewire, Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000 Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward. If you are using a router to connect, that will also need configuring. Find your router listed here, Use this blue link. & dont forget to create a static IP first, & click apply after changing each setting.
