Hi Drew.

java runtime 6.0 update 1 is a square fury lemon with 3 Arms an a wooden leg.
Roll back to this one & see how you get on.

Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.
Peace.

OK!! drew.
Where did you download your Limewire from, ? If its a cracked version, Bin it.
& scan your system

Use this link & choose the top one jre-6-windows-i586.exe IF that fails, Try the bottom one jre-6-windows-amd64.exe
Archive: Download Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE) 6

& make sure you have uninstalled all java versions before installing New.
Peace.
