Remember the other things I suggested that you try (in your first thread, there were a few different things to try apart from reinstalling Java)?? Try those;) And please tell us the model of your router.

Like I said before, something's blocking LW's default port...could be your ISP. Who do you pay for your internet, is it Liberty Cablevision? I can't find any evidence that they block ports, but that's no guarantee that it's not what's happening. You could try some other ports in the range of 49152 - 65535.

Has your brick wall disappeared? Providing that your software firewall is configured properly, port forwarding should get rid of the brick wall icon. Just in case, try these instructions. Remember, LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within a router all have to be the same number. And don't forget to set up a static IP address first.
Port Forwarding for the Belkin F5D7230-4

Do you know anyone, in the same local area with the same ISP, that can use LW without a problem? If it is your ISP at fault, there's probably not much you can do.

ok I port forwarded it to 54879 still no conection... i unistalled it and deleted preference folder.... still no conection... and it worked fine 3-4 days ago...

erick1546 June 22nd, 2007 08:16 PM

oh and the brick wall is still there

erick1546 June 22nd, 2007 08:25 PM

ok I got 3 bars for about 10 seconds:confused:.... so I tried to search somthing but then it disconected...

something I just realized is that every time I have fixed and/or used limewire it has been really late at night.... does that have something to do with it?

Try reinstalling Java one more time. I really don't know where your problem lies. Install this Java this time. Remove your current Java version before you install this one.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

If you're seeing the firewall icon still, either means that there's a software or hardware firewall causing problems. Are you sure you configured your software firewall correctly? Are you sure you port forwarded correctly? Did you set up a static IP address before port forwarding?

I don't know if the hours make a difference...some ISPs block or shape p2p at certain times of day. You still haven't confirmed whether your ISP is Liberty Cablevision.

If nothing works, I'd start looking at your ISP. Or maybe someone else here has some more ideas??

erick1546 June 22nd, 2007 08:35 PM

yes, its Liberty
