Lime Wire won't connect
 

When I try get on Lime Wire I only get one little green bar and all of my searches read: "Lime Wire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network."

Recently there's been a problem with people not providing enough details about their setup - despite being asked again & again.

So let's make it easy for everyone...the details that we need if we're going to be able to help with complex problems are:


1. Microsoft Windows XP (professional 2002)
2. Windows Firewall and also possibly Trend Micro Antivirus although I can't find options for it, everything related to the firewall is greyed out so I"m not sure if I have it or not. I also have spysweeper but I don't believe that program has a firewall in it.
3. 1.59 GHz, 896 MB of RAM
4. 14.8 GB
5. Cable
6. Ambit 60678EU
7. House
8. LimeWire 4.12.6 Java 1.6.0_01
9. ISP?
10. My test worked
11. no
12. this is my first problem with limewire, and i don't really know **** about computers
13. yes, the firewall icon is on, and stays on if i disable windows firewall also.

I think I might just need help figuring out how to deal with trend micro antivirus.... but we'll see, you guys know better than I do.

14. UPnP is enabled in lime wire but I dunno what port forwarding is. I have tried changing the port to 6404.. something or another just to see if that would help but it didn't.15. What security programs are you using

Also, I have always had trend and never had a problem with Limewire although it is possible this problem has arisen since updating my subscription/program.

I am sorry to be so pleased but i am having the same problems as ou and i know jack about PC's also. I have been trying for two weks now and short of crying i don't know what else to do. Unfortunately i can't answer many of the questions because i don't know what these thngs means to know where to go and find the info. If you have any luck, please get in touch or the whole thing will be out the window!

13. yes, the firewall icon is on, and stays on even when i shut down ZA. UPnP is enabled in lime wire & my router

yo i uninstalled and reinstalled limewire and now it works
