Hi Ron Try this, Roll back your java to "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Now! Go to, START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs, now completely remove all versions of java. Re BOOT Your computer NOW. Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down. Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 When Download is completed. Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java. |

Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000 Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward. Then Port forward your router, Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54GS Follow this link it will open on the page you need to PortForward your router. Use this blue link. & don't forget to create a static IP first, as instructed , & click apply after changing each setting. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall P.S..Configure your XP firewall Rather than turning off your Windows firewall, configure it to allow LW. Click on this blue link to configure your XP firewall correctly. Windows Firewall - LimeWire Peace. |
wireless routers have firewalls go to "Start"_ "Run". Type cmd then press enter or OK. That will bring you to dos prompt. Type ipconfig. Then press enter. Look for the default "gateway address". That is the ip for your router. Clear your url address and type in that "gateway adress". Nothing but the numbers(no http://, eg.) Now you should be able to see if you are UPuN enabled or not. Call your router manufacter for support if you can't find it looking around. The password for your router is usually admin. No user name is nessecary unless you have changed it yourself. It might be several things making LW not connect. I worked it it for a whole day until the right combo of suggestions here helped me out. Good luck!:xeri_ok1ani: |
